Under The Weather

Have been truly under the weather lately which in turn made me assick like a dog...too sick to even blog about anything..

I am still on medication as of todate. The Doc told me that I caught a case of the viral infection that is running rampant nowadays....blardie thing made me feel like all my joints had contracted rheumatoid arthritis...my back was aching like hell making sleep near impossible...KNN!!!

The worse thing that could happen happened!! I passed this viral thingy to my two sons who is now temporarily "out of commission". Pity my wife who had to take 2 days emergency leave just to look after her 3 babies.

Will continue blogging when everything is back to normal...

Bubba Gump @ The Curve

Took my family for lunch at the Bubba Gump Restaurant at the Curve last Monday ( Wesak Day ).

Had to make a beeline there for two reasons:

1) To make up for Mother's Day lunch which I missed out due to late booking

AND

2) Been to the Buuba Gump Restaurant in Las Angeles last year and was very curious to see if there is any difference between the two in terms of price, service, menus and servings.

My conclusion is this...

ONE HELL OF A RESTAURANT CHAIN!!!!

KUDOS!!!

The prices they offered was very reasonable, servings was stupendously huge and service was super top notched.

The only setback was the limitation in their menu...a tad different from what was offered in the USA. Maybe some additions are on the way..who knows?

Anyway, let me list down what we had....

My brother ordered the Fish Wich, Isaac and Ivan had the kiddy meal ( Fish & Chips ), Wifey and my mum ( the two mothers ) shared the 4 variety shrimp plate, I ordered the American Burger as well as 3/4 pounds of cajun shrimp as appetizers for everyone. The meal ended with take aways and we couldn't even finish what was on the table...kekekeekeke..the bloody serving was that HUGE ( go there with a super empty stomach!! )

The surprising part was the bill...it only came up to RM239.00 inclusive of tax. That includes the drinks which I forgot to mention...2 Lemon smoothies ( u get to take back the cup with running & blinking lights at the bottom...damn cute!! ), 1 peach Rock & Roll, 1 Orange juice..

Not bad for a 4 adults + 2 kiddies meal huh?

Will surely go back there cos Isaac and Ival has been bugging me non stop ever since that fateful day..

Trick or Treat??

Been speaking with my cousin Bernie on post programs for photography recently and found out that a lot have changed since my last indulgence into photography...

For me, the most noticeable difference between old school photography and the present is the common use of...you guessed it, computer aided softwares or editing programs.

It is a stage aptly termed as post processing whereby pictures can be made "better" by editing via programs such as Image Manipulation Process ( IMP ) or High Dynamic Range ( HDR , etc, etc...the list is endless.

To me, that takes the fun out of photography...

I remember that during the "olden and golden" days, a good photographer is required to take into account the ISO settings, Apeture settings, shutter speed, ect settings before even thinking of composing a picture...lens filters can be added on to create the desired effect e.g. sunset, star six, andromeda burst, diopter and such but the practice has since been labelled defunked via the simple click and regenerate button of the said softwares.

Nowadays is flick to "Auto" mode then shoot, shoot and shoot, then edit, edit and edit to make the end result 99% perfect..

So much for skills and old school huh?

BUT everything has its pros and cons as I am also a believer that technology is friendly and good when one uses it properly...

As for me, I will try my level best to use less of softwares and more of skills. On the positive side, maybe its an avenue for me to gauge my skill against artificially induced and modified pictures..

Below is an example of what I am harping about...

Original unedited picture

Picture edited with depth and softener

picture edited with lens glare effect, added supernova and softener

Get what I am trying to say? very nice after effects huh?

Photographer for hire!!!!! anybody want their picture taken??

2008 BolehLand Tax Revision

The only thing that the Income Tax Department has not taxed yet is the male penis.

This is due to the fact that:

69% of the time it is hanging around unemployed,
20% of the time it is hard up,
10% of the time it is pissed off
and 10% of the time it is in a hole.

On top of that, it has two dependents and they are both nuts!

HOWEVER, effective January 1st, 2008, the penis will now be taxed according to size:

The brackets are as follows:

10 - 12' Luxury Tax $300.00
8 - 10' Pole Tax $250.00
5 - 8' Privilege Tax $150.00
3 - 5 ' Nuisance Tax $30.00

Males exceeding
12' must file capital gains.

Anyone under 4'
is eligible for a tax refund.

PLEASE DO NOT

Valentina Hasan - Ken Lee

Have been receiving quite a number of emails labelled as funny/lol/hilarious regarding this "Ken Lee" song which was sung by Valentina Hasan ( original artist is Mariah Carey ) in the Bulgarian Idol Show.

Initially I was also caught by the moment and snickered...well, laugh out loud la, if you must know but after listening to it a few times my thoughts started to change...its not funny at all...

Bloody hell!!! what the fuck am I laughing at her for? what right do I have to think that I am better than her? Fuck!!

the freaking minimal least is that she dares to sing on an Idol Show... ( not easy with the panel of arsehole judges )

At least she tried her best to sing what she understands of the song...I mean, have any of you guys/gals tried your fucking best to memorize a song from languages that you don't understand? ( try tamil, greek, thai, etc for instance..u would go lubitubi tout shoo as well )

She should be applauded for her courage instead of being laughed at....

Shit! try congratulating her in her native language and I'll bet that Valentina will roll over laughing BUT I doubt she is as cruel as that...

The commentators in the improved version said it the best:

" Ladies and Gentlemen, let's welcome the lady who listens to music with her heart"

This proves that music has no barriers...a universal language...Btw, how many of us have the freaking courage to do what she did? I for one, am not in the same league as Valentina Hasan....she is a better human being than I will ever be.

I wish her well from the bottom of my heart...May All Your Dreams Come True.

Cyclone Nargis

This post is dedicated to the victims of Cyclone Nargis...wanted to blog about it sooner but couldn't....the post and pre situation made me too sick even to talk about it.

Received the pictures via email from my God sister ( thanks Pam )on the aftermath and destruction left behind by Cyclone Nargis that hit Myanmar...

An excerpt from the Star Online explains curtly on why the death toll is so high when, in truth it can be greatly reduced....

"With communications down, we were unable to get news on the magnitude of the disaster. All attempts to get a clearer picture of the situation, as well as the safety of our guide's family were futile.

“This is how the military junta keeps control of us – divide and rule. If something happens in one part of the country, those in the other states will not know of it,'' he said.

"The guide said no warning was given to the people in the hit areas. In a country where the media is controlled and telecommunications infrastructure is under-developed, the people usually get whatever information there is from independent short-wave radio services like the Voice of America and BBC World Service.

Most people are too poor to have radios though, so they would have been totally unprepared for the cyclone,” he said.

Frustrated by the lack of news on local TV, he said: “Our government only wants people to see everything that is fine in the country. That’s why there is no news on the disaster.”

In the rural areas of the Irrawady Delta and the west coast, the death toll was officially reported to be about 22,400, but international experts are estimating it to have crossed 100,000.

And, with the military junta dragging its feet over opening the doors to international aid, a greater catastrophic loss of life is predicted.

Even now, a medical volunteer has reported that an increasing number of people have been infected with fever and diarrhoea. There is also news of death from snakes and attacks from crocodiles near the flooded swampy areas.

It is feared that unless urgent action is taken, the death toll could be bigger, even more than that of the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.

John Holmes, the United Nation’s humanitarian chief, described the Myanmar cyclone crisis as “increasingly desperate” and urged for political pressure from world leaders to allow aid in."

Fuck military and iron fist rule...they are nothing more than ploys for personal gains and satisfaction. I sincerely hope that "some country" will send their elite squad to assisinate the son of bitches for what they have done to the pure and innocent over there.

I personally have a friend by the name of Gary comes from the Yangoon area. The poor bugger was totally devastated when the Nargis news broke out....till today he doesn't have a clue as to the survival of his family...phone lines are down as well as any forms of contemporary communication.

Still, he puts on a brave face and continues to work...day in and day out..work, work and work just to numb himself from the thought that he might not see his family again...aaarrrrgg!!!! its things like this that will totally fuck up my day.

Gary my friend, my heart goes out to you in these trying times, be brave my dear friend and May The Lord enclose you and your loved ones in his warm embrace.

Proton Saga BLM

1st of May = Labour Day

1st of May = Collected the new car which I bought for my Dad, the new Proton Saga BLM ( dunno what the hell it stands for ). Took the full spec version which costed me RM39,998.00, silver coloured as Dad is not a person to always wash his ride.

Placed the order about 1 month back with a waiting period of 6 months ( sicko wait!! ). Well, knowing me and my level of patience I immediately asked my brother to pull some strings in order to get the car faster. Managed to get it after about 1+ month which includes a few calls to the Proton's MD office ( pity Datuk's Personal Assistant, Puan Sabrina...kekeke ).

I consider the Proton Saga BLM a nice and nifty car to drive, it has a good power to weight ratio, handling has been improved but the main thing that surprised me the most was the spaciousness of its interior cabin. It can seat 4 adults comfortably with enough horses left to keep with the pace of normal traffic. Just for your info, I crammed the test car with 4 adults and 2 kids during the test drice session and still managed a reasonable 120 km/h cruising speed. Bumps and road unevenness have been very well addressed by the new and revamped absorber system. Brakes system installed are disc for front and drum for rear which is more than adequate for a compact car.

Took the car for a polish and thereon to a tinting job the next day, below are some pics of the detailing...

All in all, its a safe and able means of transport to ferry my kids and mum to school. At least I can have peace knowing that the chances of receiving breakdown calls from my dad with this new car is greatly reduced as opposed to his 15 year old Kancil clunker..hehehehe.

The next mission for me is to take a drive up to my hometown in Penang and gauge its performance for long distance travelling. No doubt it will not be as comfortable as my Chevvy but I think it will hold its own...

Oldie but Goody

When George Burns was 97 years old he was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah asked," Mr. Burns, how do you carry so much energy with you? You are always working and at your age I think that is remarkable."

Mr. Burns said, "I just take good care of myself and enjoy what I do when I do it."

Oprah said, "I understand you still do the sex thing, even at your age."

George said, "Of course I still do the sex thing, and I am quite good at it."

Oprah said, "I have never been with an older man, would you do it with me?"

So they had sex and when they finished Oprah said, "I just don't believe I have ever been so satisfied, you are a remarkable man."

George said, "The second time is even better than the first time."

Oprah said, "You can really do it again at your age?"

George said, "Just let me sleep for 1/2 hour. You hold my testicles in your left hand and my penis in your right hand and wake me up in thirty minutes."

When she woke him up, they again had great sex, and Oprah was beside herself with joy.

She said, "Oh Mr. Burns, I am astounded that you could do a repeat performance and have it be better than the first time. At your age, Oh My, Oh My!!!"

George said that the third time would be even better. "You just hold my testicles in your left hand and my penis in your right hand and wake me in thirty minutes."

Oprah said, "Does me holding you like that kind of recharge your batteries?"
George said, "No, but the last time I had sex with a black woman she stole my wallet!"

Oh, What A Life

Few things happened to me today....

First thing was this accident ( refer to picture below ):

Glad to see that the lady driver ( in pink circle ) was ok...she was standing with her mouth open, teary eyed and hands on her handbag....so I guess she was ok except shell shocked.

Her car, a Hyundai Matrix ( circled in Green ) was ok too....at least this accident proves that Matrix drivers can roll their cars for about ten times without getting hurt..kekekekeke..."Just Do It"

Second thing was this.....my company's favourite pass time, lining up for tickets when the local municipal council come on their rounds to summon parking offenders ( i.e. too lazy & stingy to purchase tickets...me included )

Close up view of the loyal ticket purchasing followers...pls take note of the lady infront...she is my company's Beauty Queen....people see, people like, car see, car give a ride, ghost see, ghost come to life..WAAAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAA...
aitelyuuuu, she is the spokesperson for Gillette Shavers and Shaving Cream...fuuuyoooh!!! her legs are on papers WORLDWIDE..

BUT one bugger had to bite the dust....poor bloke kena "saman" liao...anybody know this car belongs to whom? come on, three guesses..

Well, thats another day in Paradise....life goes on...saman goes on....beauty goes on.....shaving goes on...

Thats What I Call Beauty

Fast cars and superbikes have been a passion of mine ever since I got my first ride...a Proton Saga of the Magma series....

Modified it to hell because I was getting sick of eating the dust fed by the famed Genting taxis on the way uphill....

Change the engine from a normal aspirated 8 valve 82hp to a 180hp Mivec coupled to a LSD ( Limited Slip Diffential ). Standard shocks were replaced with Tein dampers and coils to lower the car and increase its stability. Needless to say the damage on my pocket was really obscene...but i managed to smoke those taxis until they gave me the finger....waaahahahahahaha....wonder where is WBL 5569 now?

Neways, this post is not about my "Potong" Saga...its about another dream machine called...

The Ford Mustang....KNN, what a ride!!!!! It cost only USD19,650 in the States but knowing the stoooopid BolehLand G, its will be 6 times the price if one were to bring it in....thanks to the sohai APs ( Approval Permits )...sucks big time!!

Let me show you guys/gals what I am rambling about here ok?

The FORD MUSTANG

I will drive an American Muscle Car anytime as compared to a Japanese Sports Car which I feel are too nice looking and pampered for my liking....

In case you were wondering where in hell have I seen the car before?? let me refresh your memories....

Ford Mustang as Barricade in Transformers The Movie..

And as KITT in Knight Rider ( replacing the Transam )....

I know that its wishful thinking hoping that Ford Malaysia will bring in even the Saleen series ( not the GT )....no harm to hope huh?

Below are the specification for the Mustang:

5.4L supercharged, intercooled DOHC V8 engine
500 hp @ 6000 rpm and 480 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4500 rpm
9.0 psi boost
Forged-steel crankshaft
Forged-steel I-Beam connecting rods
6-speed manual transmission
Dual 60-mm electronic throttle body
4-channel ABS brakes with traction control system
Modified 8.8" live axle with 3.31:1 gear ratio
Brembo® 14" vented front rotors and 4-piston calipers
11.8" vented rear rotors with 2-piston calipers
SVT-tuned suspension with unique shocks and springs
Tuned stainless steel X-pipe exhaust
P255/45ZR18 front F1 Supercar tires
P285/40ZR18 rear F1 Supercar tires
18" x 9.5" bright machined-aluminum wheels with SVT center caps

The above has been labelled as "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS" in Ford's catalogue....aaargg! Kindly excuse me while I go bang my head....agaian and again and again and again...duuuuh

Whats Left To Be Said....

Finally it happened!!! After so long a wait, it finally came true...

Tun Mahathir has his own blog ( http://www.chedet.com/ )...yaaahoooooooo!!!!

At least the rakyat can now have a voice that can equal the voice of the "superior" minority of arseholes left in the "G"...

Some said that bloggers helped the "Opposition" in their quest this passed election....hmmmm...maybe its true to a point but who is to know what are facts and what are myths ( to put it in a better way ) because of all the filtration that is going on in the media nowadays.

Hopefully, with the existence of more and more of such blogs as mentioned, the "some" still stooopid Rakyats will have another avenue to weigh the pros and cons before making retarded decisions.....

Thank you Tun Mahathir for starting the blog.....I for one ( my personal opinion ok? ) believe that you have done more Good than Evil for BolehLand...and I was very saddened by your statement when you said that "they" have treated you like a Pariah after your retirement from the political scene..... You did and said what you think was right and to be branded a coward and pariah for doing just that was just a wee bit to much for a person to swallow.....my sincerest sympathies to you Tun..

BUT

May you be Blessed with longevity and May the Truth(s) be told...and May The Force Be With You ( hehehehehe )....YOU THE MAN, Tun!!!!

My Nikon D80 DSLR

Finally took the decision to jump back onto the band wagon of my fav past time...

PHOTOGRAPHY....

Was actively pursuing it until work related commitments made me give it up. My previous camera was a Canon A-1 film based SLR ( Single Lens Reflect ) which can still be used but I thought of getting a new fangled DSLR ( Digital Single Lens Reflect ) camera to compliment the Canon A-1.

I like to take all kinds of photographs.....stills, potraits, macros, animals, insects, you name it and chances are that I have shot the frame before.

So, it was to no surprise of Wifey when she caught me browsing thru the net, looking at reviews and forums of DSLRs...and it was also to no surprise of mine when she asked me the fateful question one sunny day...with a smirk on her face she said..

"Whats up with you darling? Long time never see you use your Canon liao woh? Looking to start again I see....which model are you contemplating this time round?"

My answer was a simple " just browsing the net only ma, see what my old kakis are up to"

"Yeah, right!!" was her lovely reply...kekekekeke

Took my family to 1 Utama yesterday on the pretext of taking the kids out for a walk ( Labour Day ) but in reality I was on the hunt...hunt for a DSLR...I think Wifey could read my mind because she had on this funny smile from the start....hehehehe, this is what marriage will do to you...after a while it gets telephatic KNN.

Bought some Speed Racer toys for my two monkeys and walked around for a bit...it was then when Wifey siad this to me "Darling, let me take the kids for a meal or something, give me a ring when you have decided on which camera to buy"..I was like "???" YAAAAHOOOOOOOOO and uttered an "OK" with the straightest face that I could muster in light of the given situation..

I hurried to one of the Camera shops on level 3 that I have secretly dropped by a few times the past week and got myself a Nikon D80 ( pic below, review at http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD80/ ) DSLR.

I admit that I might have to spend more for some extra lenses because of the non compatibility of my existing Canon lens but what the heck!! Nikon make fabulous lenses as well...Canon has its IS system ( Image Stabilizing ) wherelse Nikon has it VR ( Vibration Control )...maybe can get some 3rd party lens ( Sigma, Tamron, etc ) during my impending trip to Japan this June.

All in all I spent RM3,600 which I paid in cash because the bugger wanted to charge my 2.5% extra if I use my plastic..KNN.

What I got was this:

Nikon D80 x 1 unit
18mm-135mm lens x 1 unit
2 pcs of 2 gb SD card
1 unit of UV filter
Screen Protector x 1
Nikon Tripod x 1
Nikon camera bag x 1

I still find the D80 quite user friendly eventhough the camera has been in the market for about 2 years plus. I admit that specification wise it is not comparable with the Canon 40 but neither is the price.

As of today, I am still fiddling with the operational features of the D80 to familiarize myself with Nikon's user interface. Hope that I can start posting some pictures very, very soon.....

Lastly, my sincerest thanks to Wifey for understanding me...THANK YOU...

A Woman

Another one for Judy....simply titled... "A Woman"

This is written in the Hebrew Talmud, the book where all of the sayings and preaching of
Rabbis are conserved over time.

It says:

"Be very careful if you make a woman
cry, because God counts her tears.
The woman came out of a man's rib.
Not from his feet to be walked on.
Not from his head to be superior, but
from the side to be equal.
Under the arm to be protected,
and next to the heart to be loved."

No wonder men always want to be inside women! ( How true...yaaaahoooooo!!!! )

Men were born between the legs of a woman, yet men spend all their life and time trying to go back between the legs of a woman....( again, very, very true!!! ) Why? BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Okay, Okay, it all makes sense now... I never looked at it this way before:

Ever notice how all of women's problems start with MEN?

MENtal illness

MENstrual cramps
MENtal breakdown
MENopause

Puss-In-Boots

A Sikh man is walking along Jalan Bukit Bintang, in Kuala Lumpur one night
when a very gorgeous girl catches his eye.

He strikes up a conversation with her, and quickly discovers that she is
one of those "exclusive" ladies-of-the-trade.

"How much do you charge?", asks Gerdial Singh

Mary replies, "It starts at 500 ringgit for a hand-job."

Gerdial says, "500 ringgit for a hand-job? No hand-job is worth that kind
of money!"

With a saucy flick of her eyelashes, Mary says, "Do you see that Mary
Restaurant on the corner?"

"Yes."

"Do you see the next Mary's about another block further down?"

"Yes."

"And beyond that, do you see the third Mary's, just by the side of the old
Cathay cinema?"

"Yes."

"Well," says Mary, smiling invitingly, "I own those.

And, I own them because I give a hand-job that's worth 500 ringgit."

Gerdial then exclaims, "What the hell? You only live once. I'll give
it a try."

They checked in to the nearby Marriott Hotel.

A short time later, Mr Gerdial Singh is sitting on the bed realising that
he just experienced the hand-job of a lifetime, worth every bit of 500
ringgit.

He is so amazed, he says, "I suppose a blow-job is 1,000 ringgit?"

Mary replies, "RM1,500."

"I wouldn't pay that for a blow-job!"

Mary then says, while signalling Gerdial to come closer to her.

"Come closer to this window, big boy. Do you see that bank just across the
junction to Jalan Sultan Ismail?

I own that bank outright. And I own it because I give a blow-job that's
worth every sen of 1,500 ringgit !"

And poor Gerdial, basking in the afterglow of that terrific hand-job,
decides to put off his intended new mobile phone and says, "Give it to me
!!!"

Ten minutes later, he is sitting on the bed more amazed than before.

Mr Singh can scarcely believe it but he feels he truly got his money's
worth.

He decides to dip into what else he may have left with him for one more
glorious and unforgettable experience.

He then asks Mary,"How much for some pussy?"

Mary replies, "Come over here to this other window, I want to show you
something.

Do you see how the whole city of Kuala Lumpur is laid out before us .....
all those beautiful lights, banks .... corporate offices ... business houses
..... and big-&-small shops and places?"

"Wowwww !!" Gerdial shouts out in awe, "You own the whole city ??"

"No," Mary replies, "but I would if I had a pussy."

WOOOOHOOOOOHHOOOOOO....sounds like the bugger in my office......hahahahahaha...
