there may be loyalty but then .. not many people are that stupid .. just think of it the other way round .. if your company had a chance to hire someone with similar skills and younger than you with half the wages the company is paying you ... what do you think will happen?
I work for myself because I need the money, I need to occupy my time, a need to interact with people but in exchange, I learn to love being at work.
At the end of the day, if I was head hunted with better pay, I will definitely consider the pros and cons and what's best for me.

Judy: Like you I am "trying" to love being at work but there is no question where my loyalty lies....which is to money and nothing/no one else!!!
Companies will not appreciate what you do no matter how hard you slog because to them you are paid to do it irrespective of the hardship or "mission impossible" status. A lot of companies are of the believe that "No One Is Indispensible". I would be doing the same thing if I were a boss...so there.
